Want to know more about interior design? Here are the answers to common questions from different people who want to venture in the industry, while some of them come from people who just want to use the knowledge for personal use. Whatever reason you may have, this will be a good read for you!

What inspired you to become an interior designer?

To be honest, I'm a man of many ideas and I ventured into different industries but interior designing is what strikes the most. Having a playful mind and creativity is a huge advantage as it always gets me great results.; whether I'm trying to mix and match accessories and furniture, choosing the right paint, adding lightning, and even creating plans for architecture etc. everything comes out natural.

What are your tips for people who are really new to interior design?

Just be creative! well I know that's it is a vague response but everything starts out with gathering your ideas and adding up a personal touch on whatever you do. On a more serious note, beginners can go around with white and black colors, hardwood floor partnered with cream or light wall paint as a base. Also, ensure not to overdo clutters and leave a breathing room for your furniture. Of course, we don't stop with those dull colors as we need to achieve elegance and vibrant atmosphere to the room;

The picture below is a great example, a simple bedroom with a touch of elegance.

Suppose that we wanted to change the design of our room without spending too much how can we do it?

Cost effective ways on how to change the atmosphere in a room would be wall paints and accessories. Just picture a room painted white while the other is red, it is a huge difference right? Paint cost just a couple of dollars and it's fairly easy to do. If you don't want to go through the hassle of painting, another way is to change the fabric or color choices of your upholsteries, rugs, throw pillows, carpet etc. and while you are doing that, try to rearrange where the location of furniture.

I heard that there are lots of styles from Victorian, modern, contemporary etc. but what's your favorite?

Nothing in particular. I always aim to make a timeless piece of interior design that stands the test of time. I collaborate different styles to make a unique approach; like modern architecture with Victorian furniture, traditional to contemporary, and the list goes on and on. I don't go with themes as it may be popular the date today but not after a few years. I only consider themes valid for a toddler's room.

What's the best advice that you can offer to beginners?

Everything through trial and error. When it comes to interior designing there's only a little chance you'll say that you can't undo what you already did. From artwork and other wall accessories that you can hang anywhere, adjust the height, move from wall to wall, to furniture that you can rotate and move from place to place, choosing and changing lightning is fairly easy as well. All we need to do is try and try until the pieces gets together and form a better picture.
